Cabo San Lucas, the county capital city, is 220 km away from La Paz (the capital of the state of the BCS). But San Jose del Cabo, 33 miles east of Cabo San Lucas, is the most important city of Los Cabos. See Maps of San Lucas and San José.

Between the two cities, in these 33 km of coastline are some of the liveliest and most beautiful beaches, and some of the best hotel chains in Mexico.

In the region, the meeting of the waters of the Pacific with the Sea of Cortes - granted Heritage Site by UNESCO - is the beautiful natural monument El Arco.
